Cate took an infill lot with ocean views and designed a new home that fit into its historic street. Three floors of covered porches provide the views, while inside, an open plan combines the kitchen, dining and family room areas.

The clients wanted a private, spa-like atmosphere on the third floor. Reflective, water-like tiles lead to a large whirlpool tub, and a triple window lets the sunlight pour in.
